"Adapting to Change: Navigating the Shifting World Through Poetry"

Updated: Apr 5

It's impossible for me to make rational sense of the atrocities transpiring in our world in this day and age. It's both mind-numbing and heartbreaking to even attempt to comprehend. Poetry somehow helps my confused, outraged, and grieving heart to navigate that impossibility. I hope my words will help you too. This poem is called "The World is Shifting."

The World Is Shifting The world is shifting,

Hearts are drifting,

Hope is at an all-time low,

Meanwhile, greed continues to grow.

Half-truths echo in our ears,

As liars feed our collective fears.

Inflation, isolation, and The Culture War,

Leave us yearning, longing for more.

Feelings repressed, wounds unhealed,

Humanity's breakdown is revealed.

Authoritarianism holding sway,

Sparks of revolution fading away.

But amidst the darkness, there's a gleam,

In every shadow, a light to be seen,

For yin and yang, the dance persists,

In every trial, a chance exists.

In every struggle, lessons learned,

In every crisis, wisdom earned,

For intertwined with the bad, so true,

Lies the good, in me and you.
