A 2-Part Self-Esteem & Purpose Workshop For Men
With Michael Dale
Let's face it a lot of men are lost. The macho thing doesn't fly anymore and the nice guy routine isn't working either. To make matters worse many of us have no real sense of joy in our lives. Not to mention low self-esteem, stress, anxiety, depression and addictions. On top of that, the majority of men feel like they have few or no real friends and they don't fit in. Behind our masks, a lot of us just feel dead inside - The raft of psychobabble and idealistic, quasi-spiritual solutions out there aren't helping much either, there's way too many options and the FOMO (fear of missing out) is debilitating...
For a very long time, I've wondered,
"Is this it for men or can we honestly come alive again?"
"Can men experience that passion for life and that sense of purpose all the personal development gurus go on about?"
My life's journey has forced me to find out and I've got some answers. Through surviving addiction and two suicide attempts and years of working with other men and on myself I have developed some useful tools and techniques for getting over all our bullshit, feeling magnificent - fast - and getting a whole lot more out of life. I believe men deserve to live great lives and it's been a dream of mine to share this stuff with men like you. On Monday the 18th of August, 2015, I was awoken at 2 am and the whole thing came together:
It starts with getting over the old "I'm Not Good Enough" story by realising it's a lie we tell ourselves to protect's us from failing to fulfil our potential - Not just in your head, though, in your gut and your heart as well. Achieving this is possible by creating a healthier more productive relationship between the mind and body through methods such as laughter yoga and conscious movement. Through these practices, we learn how to access positive neurochemicals like endorphins, oxytocin, serotonin and dopamine that create those feelings of love, joy and belonging we so deeply crave. They're inside of us all we just need to get them flowing again.
When you finally accept you're good enough, you'll be left with the question, "What Now?" At this point, it's time to take a fresh look at your purpose and the fulfilment of your potential. Time to look beyond the tired motivational platitudes and stay aware of the self-sabotaging tendencies and tricks that are going to pull you back into the old "I'm Not Good Enough" game so you can get on with living your best life and making a difference in the world.
This workshop is not just a bunch of cool ideas thrown together, all of the theory and exercises I present are already making a significant impact in the lives of previous participants and men I work with one-on-one and my own life too. Most importantly this workshop will provide you with tools to begin the journey of getting your repressed and forgotten needs met in healthy ways and understanding the needs of others. You'll also get access to a private Facebook support group of other guys who've done the workshop, regular follow-up and integration opportunities and the chance to make some new friends on a similar journey.
"This workshop allowed me the space and safety to explore what it physically feels like to be my authentic self, perhaps for the first time in my life. I have come to realize what being good enough means for me and I now have some great, simple and best of all FUN tools to change my life by changing my body any time I want. I wish this experience for every man."
"You'd normally have to win the world cup to get a feeling of connection and camaraderie like this, absolutely amazing!"
Part 1 offers an eye-opening analysis of why the way's we try to fix low self-esteem don't work - How low self-esteem impacts our reality and the work required to overcome it.
When you finally accept you're good enough you'll be left with the question, "What Now?" Part 2 takes a fresh look at purpose and the fulfilment of potential without the platitudes.
Pay It Forward: It is my highest vision that all men be able to attend these workshops irrespective of their economic situation and every individual who wishes to do the work but cannot afford the fee is invited to apply for a payment plan or a partial or full bursary. "I found the workshop to be stimulating, adventurous, informative, and a fun way to stretch into some discomfort in a safe and well facilitated space. Well done for keeping the theory simple and easy to understand and apply!"
